what colleges mostly look at jr, and sr year? (northeast)

hello? ???

Just about all of them, but they also take into account your freshman and sophomore years.

well Berkely doesnt want your frosh grades which i think is weird, but all the HYPSM look at all your grades since 2nd grade.. (okay 9th grade)

Princeton does not look at freshman grades

Junior year and the first marking period of senior year are the most important. If you are a borderline admit your senior midyear grades will also be carefully considered. If your first two years aren't so hot, make sure that you have a couple of bona fide safeties on you list - depending on board scores alone doesn't always cut it.

because the first two years of h.s, i started in a new school. i thought i was going to switch back, however i couldnt, now my grades show a huge upward trend.

Except for the UC schools, Stanford, and a few others, all of your high school grades will count. The colleges want to know that you are continually challenging yourself within the context of your school's course offerings, and that the grade trend is steady, or upward, as you progress toward senior year. They will always see your midyear senior grades if you apply RD, plus they will want to know that your courses senior year are still challenging. Good luck, and as ohio_mom suggested, always have a couple of safeties on your list--there are many posts of students' stats on CC to give you an idea of what different schools are accepting, waitlisting and denying.

bump bump bump

An upward trend is a great thing colleges like to see. It shows you are getting serious and can handle harder work.

thanks, are there any particular colleges that take mostly junior and sr. year into account

bump any? bump

[ace]:
I
m not aware of any colleges that the mostly junior and sr.yr into account...
it all depends on how competitive the school is. For instance, the ivy league schools and schools of that caliber well probably take all soph,jr,and sr yr into account.
Some schools put alot of emphasis on improvement.
SO IN CONCLUSION, I don
t really know any schools that look at junior and senior yr into account. Some schools like University of Toronto in Canada will only request your junior and senior year grades. But schools in the U.S will most likely look at your whole profile (not so much on freshman yr)
