This is something that is stupid and frustrates and annoys me, even though it doesn't directly relate to me.

(On the one hand...:) At my high school, the cheerleaders' uniforms consist of a long-sleeved top and a short skirt--short enough so that the girls' whole rear ends are visible when they lean over (to pick up a backpack or sit down in the folding auditorium seats, for instance)-- with a slit up the side all the way to the waist, so it flops open when they sit. (They also wear spankies, but that basically means panties that match the skirt. Imagine your underwear being part of your uniform! I couldn't do it... but that's beside the point.)

(On the other hand...:) Our dress code requires that skirts be at the very least long enough so that when your arms are straight down at your sides, your fingertips will touch the hem. They send girls home to change if their clothes violate the code. However, cheerleaders--whose skirts are in obvious violation of this code--are required to wear their uniforms on game days. (This also means wearing ultra-skimpy clothes on winter days in a school where the heating system is entirely unpredictable and often renders half the school as good as unheated.) Some of them have requested that leggings be a part of their uniform, but the request was denied.

Holds both palms flat and moves them as if comparing the weights of two objects Hmmmm.

What do you people think? Is there this issue at your schools?

our cheerleaders wear uniforms like that while they are actually at the games cheering, but during the school day they wear matching track pants over their skirts. i think they have a track suit to wear in case it rains at a football game...which happens often.

Our school's cheerleaders also wear their uniforms to school, and their skirts are the same kind (straight with a side slit). However, the length of the skirt varies. A couple of my friends on the cheer team have longer skirts, while a few other girls have opted for short ones. And I think they are permitted to wear track pants over their skirts on cold days. Its not too much of an issue over here.

I am pretty sure ours wear track pants, although i cant give you a definite answer being that our cheerleaders are mostly ugly and i dont look at them.

sounds like if a girl wants to get away with skimpy clothing------> become a cheerleader. Seriously, some people around here do cheerlead just to be popular and wear those little skirts.

The rules for your school are ridiculous, though. Cheerleaders and other sports players usually change right before the game, and the uniforms are long enough to cover the behind decently.

Our junior varsity and varsity cheerleaders are **ing hot. They just wear long sleeve shirts and short skirts. But holy * they are hot.

My school has no cheerleaders. It's excellent (as a gymnast, I have this natural aversion to cheerleading, not the people themselves, but the "sport" in general)

Dude, like why don't they have cheerleaders for the International Mathematics Olympiad?
[/quote]
Because American culture doesn't care about science and math, and prefers teasing them and calling them 'geeks'.
You only need science to get a crapload of money and be rich which can also be done through athletics and pop-industry.
Sad :

Yes. Hence, we are America. Actually; such is the human race. The richest amongst us are actors. Simply put, we pay those who amuse us more than we pay those who save our lives. This is, of course, no offense intended to actors or future actors - indeed, it is a wonderful profession - perhaps the most beautiful means of expressing oneself. In our youth, the former are revered and the environmental engineer is deemed a tomfool. Our clothes have become the focus of our education; our makeup amount the math, the hair shampoo science, and music is now the iPod. Such we are.

Perhaps I deserve a new name - intials being SFK+(er).
Of course, the "Sub" can be easily extended to any other forum, thus replacing the S with an F(orum).;)

The SFKer standing for Sub-Forum-Killer. If it was Forum Killer...

Basically all of my friends are cheerleaders, which is funny since I'm a nerd. We don't have that problem, but the skirts are a little on the short side, but the admin makes up for it by making the waistband actually around the waist.

Only one girl complains, but no one pays any attention to her.

This always ****ed me off too, even though my girlfriend is a cheerleader. Our cheerleaders wear one of their like, 20 cheerleading shirts on game days with whatever they want as bottoms. The skirts are kinda short, but not ridiculous.
