My daughter is checking out potential schedules for the fall.
She’s looked at Rate My Professor and there’s nothing for James Sodetz since 2008. Does anyone know anything about him?
At this point, she’s thinking she would prefer Dan Freeman’s Chem 102 lecture. But, the associated labs clash with another class. Ideally, she would like one of the labs associated with the James Sodetz lecture. All the labs are run by the same person. Any idea if that’s possible?
Thanks. All info appreciated.
Check out some of the facebook pages for Class of xxxx. Some are open groups and you might get more results from current students. Since the lab and lecture are combined you might not be able to mix and match but you can call the department if you are having scheduling conflicts.
My D had Prof. Dan Freeman for Chem 111 and Prof. Michael Dukes for Chem 112 and liked both of them very much. But she really liked Dan Freeman a lot more- she said he was funny and made Chemistry interesting. She actually looked forward to it. My S had him too and felt the same way. In fact, my S had the same Chem as what you mentioned (Chem 102)… He said that is the “Nursing Chemistry” (he’s a Nursing major) so it’s quite easy for a Chemistry class.
scmom12, thanks for the tip. I’ll see what I can find through Facebook. And, yes, the lab and lecture combination makes me think that it may not be possible to mix and match.
coleman4, thank you. We’ve seen really positive reviews of Dan Freeman. It’s nice to see it confirmed. Rate My Professor doesn’t have a lot of enthusiastic reviews of James Sodetz though.
My son had Freeman for both 101 and 102. He said he is a good teacher and very fair. He received A’s both semesters and finished102 with a 99!
