I'm taking CHEM 110 in the fall and I'm totally nervous because someone said it's one of the most dropped courses at PSU. I need a C for my major, but I'd like to get a B or higher.

I haven't taken chemistry since like 11th grade, so I've pretty much forgotten the majority of it. I'm reviewing stuff before the semester begins and would appreciate any tips or advice regarding the course.

Also, how does ALEKS work? Can you skip around or do you have to do everything in order? Is it like Mastering Biology?

TIA! :-)

I took chem 110 my freshman year. Im a sophomore now. I hadn’t taken chem since sophomore year of high school. Yes it is a lot of work and you have to basically study on your own. Take advantage of the free tutoring at the chem resource room. It’s good to review because I wish i did before i started my freshman year. I worked hard but got very anxious during exams and made tupid mistakes. I still ended up with a B. Done be nervous cos thats the worse thing that could happen. Keep up with the course work and study frequently. If you follow this you could make an A. ALEKS WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. Aleks will end up helping you understand topics better than your professors. It is a lot of busy work but keep up with it and dont be late on assignments. You cant really skip around. It will give you a number of topic to complete every week. GOODLUCK
