Anybody else in chem 125 and don't really know what you're doing...?
I don't understand the lab that well nor the pre-labs and I feel like I'm completely screwed on the exams...

I kinda feel the same. I haven’t taken chemistry since high school (graduated in 07) and it seems like they’re assuming that you have prior knowledge. I’m taking 130 also and it seems like it’s just now catching up to what Chem 125 thinks you already know.

Also, the custom manual is **** and unclear when it comes to the questions. The questions are like three ****ing words. I hope they’re not expecting a huge answer.

I’d read the pre-lab stuff that your GSI sends you if yours does that. If not, maybe sign up for a study group. I don’t think they have it for 125 but I’m in one for 130 and you may be able to ask the head person there some questions.

wow i just typed a long paragraph and *** lost it

anyway sum it up
skip lecture, study from slides. only go to lecture if you want to see cool chemical reactions, then again you can see those during lab, so whats the point?
50% of the time idk *** we were doing in lab
hope you get a good group, or else youre screwed.
Do all the practice exams, starting 1 week in advance. the questions are the same pretty much. I got like 99% on the first one. 70%ish on 2nd one. Above avg on all labs, still only got a B. ■■■.

You have Kerner right? Lol good luck. Had that class as a Freshman and learned absolutely nothing. Lecture was worthless and GSIs aren’t allowed to tell you anything so you basically end up winging it in the lab. Only reason I got a good grade was because I memorized the format of the exams and got 100% on both.

Do every single practice exam because the real exam has identical format. Your in-lab grade depends on your GSI so if you have a bad one you’re SOL.

Thank you all so much.
I won’t be attending the lectures anymore and I’ll be working on the practice exams starting now.
I don’t know any chemistry and I feel like I’m screwed.
