Chem 130 Textbook

How hard is this class? I’ve been reading conflicting views but i feel that’s cuz a wide array of.kids take this class.

So any solidified advice on buying older editions and then just buyign OWL access?

hey guys
I was wondering if someone could give me the link to the custom edition because the ISBN doesn’t work for some odd reason.

You can only get the custom version at U of M.

oh okay. thanks

So is it better to just get the 9th edition instead of the custom one?

MLDWoody, this class is a cakewalk compared to any of the calc series or physics.

iqbal, it doesn’t matter because all the HWs are online, and the book is just for supplemental reading purposes.

^ Really? Up until now, I’ve heard this class was really hard. How does this class compare to Math 156 (Applied Honors Calc II), or Math 116?

And even tho HW is online, wouldn’t you need the book to know how to do the homework? Or is everything covered really well in the lectures?

~thanks!

156 really isn’t very hard.

The Gen Chem lab is 2 credits, and apparently has an average grade of a C+. That alone would make what would seem to be an alright course into a *****. However, I haven’t taken it, so I don’t actually know how hard it is.

Ok thanks, I was worried about 156 even tho I was really good at calc I :)

And ya my bad, I forgot square was only talking about chem 130, 125 is supposed to be the hard part.

125 is the frustrating one because of the harsh grading + possibility of getting bad partners.

130 is one of those courses that you can understand even you skip the lectures, and learn the simple math on ur own cuz its a lot of algebraic conversions.

ok, I just started looking around for this book (the first friend from the group I hung out with left for college and it was kind of a wake-up call to get stuff ready)

I looked on the ctools website and found the textbook they want, and like another person sadi I got the ISBN code and it couldn’t find anything.

From what I understand its bascially two parts, the textbook and access to the internet hw. You need the up to date internet part but the textbook is just supplemental and doesn’t need to be up to date.

Is the only place I can get this wolverine special 9th edition book at the university though? Its gotta be pretty expensive there, and I don’t really care to own a general chemsitry book.

Aslo, ebook is just the whole thing on your computer I assume, right?
