Hey everybody,
I'm going to be a freshman in the fall and I was wondering if I should take Chem 130 first or Bio 175 first. I took AP chem junior year and AP bio senior year.

Thanks!

CHEM 130/125/126 is basically your AP Chemistry course. Did you get any AP credits that you want to transfer over from that? You still need to take the chemistry placement test as well. That is a weeder course so I would avoid it and dive into CHEM 210/211 (organic chemistry I) if at all possible. One question… what is BIOLOGY 175? I cannot find it anywhere in the course guide from the past 8 years… I can help you a bit more once some more information is given…

Sorry, I meant Bio 171

Alrighty so as I mentioned before CHEM 130/125/126 is the same as AP Chem and BIOLOGY 171/172/173 is the same as AP Bio. Both are weeder courses with terrible curves. I would not retake them if you have AP credit for them. I would jump into CHEM 210/211 or take the intro bio lab - BIOLOGY 173.
