So, for whoever just took the chem IA final last night.. what did you think of it? I don't think I passed it, some of the questions were so absurd.. seriously, after all that studying, I felt that atleast half of the material I thought would be on there wasn't.. Oh well, lets all pray for a curve!

I know that I either got a "D" or "F". I seriously effed up on the part about cola and metals. What also messed up a lot of people is the fact that there were a lot of multiple choice answers and If you get most of those wrong (worth 56% of the final) then your screwed since there is no wiggle room. All in all, everybody that I have talked about said that it was indeed a very difficult final and that the final will most likely drop most peoples grade. Gosh I have an 80% in that class and hope that It doesn't lower me to a "C".

i couldn't believe how hard it was. they said it was going to be more general information because it's cumulative so the questions wouldn't be as in depth, but it didn't seem like that to me. i think i failed it.

yea ***.. is all i can say. bye chem 1a.

**** you chem 1a. general concepts my ass. **** you stacy!!! confidence isn't everything...

Paint!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! W T F !!!!!

I think I could have studied more efficiently by drinking lots of soda and milk, reading their labels and ingredients, and thinking about what they're doing in my stomach.

didn't you read the test-taking strategies? The last bullet was "Know a lot about soda, paint, and cans"

lol..seriously.. that test was so retarded.. I don't know how they expected us to know that random crap about soda an paint.. i wish i had taken chem in the spring instead.. cuz i'm most likely getting a C now.. :(

Yeah, I definitely thought that final was insane. Good to know, I thought I was the only one...

k ***..
Should i just give up premed now? im gonna end up with C-.

so the MC scores are up and..they had better lower the cutoffs

in the email sent out, they said that the cut offs would stay what they are in the syllabus...which is completely absurd.

^
didn't you get Douskey's email how they're NOT lowering it?

no i ddint get an e-mail! whats going on?

ill repost it..
Dear Students-
I wanted to let you know how grading will proceed as we finish up the semester.

The remaining OWL grades will be uploaded into bspace in the next couple of days.
We will be grading the final on Monday evening and posting exam grades Tuesday morning.
After all the grades are up to date in bspace, I will download the data.
I will make sure the bonus points for surveys and the 6 iClicker points are added in properly. The way bspace is set up, I cannot tell the system to count a score as bonus so I will simply do this offline on my own spreadsheet. The course grade is bspace is falsely low and will not necessarily be your final grade.
Final letter grades will be decided by the end of the week and posted on Bearfacts by early next week. The grade ranges will be consistent with what is in the course policies. We will assign +/– grades within the ranges shown. For example, since 88-100% is an A, someone that earns 88.2% would earn an A-. We will look for natural breaks in the data to assign the +/- grades. Those ranges will not be posted.

Good luck with the rest of your finals.
-Dr. Douskey

it's also on bspace announcement if u didn't catch it.

o yea i got this one...i though there was a new one
but i hope they make the A- and A cutoff leninent and skewed towards the latter
who here think it will be 90% for an A?

omg, did you guys check your grades? i don't know how well all of you did, but my grade on the final MC is devastating.. please, lets do something about it if the Chem 1a staff decides not to lower the curve.. we could all send her emails saying she's ruining our gpa/career pathways.. i'm seriously so nervous right now about my grade!

Yeah....the MC scores were bad for everyone I talked to...
Screw this.
