Chem 1A/Math 16A

Hi folks. I'm a sophomore planning on obtaining English/Environmental Science simultaneous majors. I am looking to get three of my ES requirements out of the way this coming fall: Chem 1A, ENG C77, and Math 16A.

My question for the sages is: as someone who hasn't taken AP Calculus or AP Chemistry but likes both subjects, how difficult would Chem 1A/Math 16A be and how should one prepare? Personal experience welcomed. Thanks!

For chemistry, have you had a high school chemistry course?
