so now, all the chem 20L dis and lec are closed. I'm just wondering how likely am i gonna be on the waitlist? any tips/trick?

It’s pretty much like any other class. Stalk the waitlist. Worst comes to worst, you try to find a spot on the first day of class (by attending the section(s) you want to try for and the lecture.) The sections that most people drop are the really late ones or the really early ones. Last year, I got lucky, and managed to get a spot in a good section without having been on the waitlist.

Chem 20L will not over-enroll though. So if you’re waitlist one, and no one in that section drops before the deadline, you don’t get in.

when’s the deadline typically?

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think the deadline to drop/enroll in a class is the end of Week 2?

For Chem 20L, an impacted course, people have to drop before the end of second week. (Though there’s some lee-way for adding. For Chem 20L last quarter, I didn’t get notified that they tried to add that course, but couldn’t because it would be over 19 units… It wasn’t until I asked them about that around week 3 that I got added since I had to drop my other class.)
