CHEM 322A textbooks!

<p>does anyone else think the book list for chem 322A is ridiculously confusing??</p>

<p>for my list, Every textbook appears twice...so its in duplicates for some stupid reason...and i had to go through the entire list and sort it out. not only that...but almost every book appears as "optional".</p>

<p>anyways, i was wondering if anyone taking this class (or has taken the class in the past), knows for sure exactly what things we need to buy. </p>

<p>"Solomons. ORGANIC CHEMISTRY (Pkg) 9e BINDER READY" appears as "optional", and it costs 107.45, while "Solomons. ORGANIC CHEMISTRY W/ MOLECULAR MODEL KIT" also appears as "optional" and costs 144.95.
-do i need to buy both of these? i wasnt even able to find these at the bookstore, and they both sound like they are the same textbook, but come with different things. can anyone clarify?</p>

<p>secondly, the list states that we need to buy "Hgs Molecular Structure Model" for 48.75 and the "Molecular Moel Set For Organic Chemistry" for 42.60.
-again, both of these come up as 'optional' and Again they sound like they are the same exact thing. do i need to purchase both? just one? none?</p>

<p>lastly, i could not find neither the 'chem 322a lab manual' nor the 'solutions manual organic chem' in the bookstore. </p>

<p>is anyone else having these same problems? does anyone know what we need to buy? thanks so much.</p>

<p>The Solomons’ textbook is the only thing that you’ll need.</p>

<p>The solutions manual should be packaged with the textbook at the bookstore, along with a molecular kit. Otherwise you could just buy the textbook by itself.</p>

<p>Solutions manual isn’t entirely necessary, you can always borrow someone’s if you really want to see it.</p>

<p>The molecular kit isn’t required; however, some students may find it useful. That’s for you to decide for yourself. If you have an easy time visualizing 3-D structures you won’t need it.</p>

<p>Much like Chem 105, the lab manuals are sold from the chemistry stock room.</p>
