How did Frechet curve the class? Is it possible to get around an A on both midterms and final (guessing based on the individual means and SD's) but still get like a C in the class. How does he curve all the points at the end? It'd appreciate it if someone could explain that. Thanks

Well, I know that he stated 1SD above the mean is B+/A- range, and he has stated everything is curved at the end so its possible that he created averages for the point totals, and curved from there.

If you haven’t seen this before, it shows previous grade distributions for Frechet. (I don’t know how accurate these are, if at all).

I find it hard to believe that after two As on midterms (maybe 1.3 standards devs above or more) and that someone would get a C in the class unless they absolutely failed the final.

I got pretty high A’s on both midterms (about 1.75 standard deviations above the mean) and I think I did okay on the final and I got an A+ in the class.

man… ***. ur so smart. i got B+ i was hoping for A-… but i guess not.

you got A’s on both midterms but got a C in the class? how the heck did that happen lol…

@8888: i know you were trying for an A-. don’t feel too down man, just own up Chem 3B when you take it.

yea yea. gg.

the first midterm… easiest midterm threw me off. dang. shoulda studied for that one. i only hit avg. whatever. chem 3b. !

how’d you guys find out your grades?

@Batman 17: they should be on bearfacts under final grades.

oh durr.

haha.
gg. i passed. I think my answer of me inventing the enantiomers helped.
disappointed in 1b math though. i know off topic but i thought for sure i had an A after killing that final but B+…damn

I don’t think it’s possible to get As on both midterms and the final and then end up with a C. Maybe you have an incorrect grade. I didn’t know final scores have been out. Maybe you’re overestimating final grades.
