Does anyone know which books we need to buy for chem 4A?

just go the website at the end of this post and you'll be able to find the required books for all your classes. that is, if your instructors have all released that information.

i would sell you mine...except they changed the book on us. those bastards, haha.

some science/math book comes with the CD-ROMs. Do you really need/use them during the course. Is it okay if I buy a book without CDs?

I'm bumping this post because i have a question on this topic too...

Is it REALLY that important to get the latest edition of a textbook? Because the Chem 4A texts are new, and hella expensive.

The Quantitative Chemical Analysis, 7th edition book just came out May 2006, so we pretty much HAVE to buy the new, hot-off-the-press, $129 text. But,that's the edition we were told to buy...unless of course, it's possible to cheat by buying the 6th edition book...?

if the class is like it was last year, then the problem sets come out of the book. they've probably changed the questions since the last edition...so enless you want to get the problems from other people, then you probably need the latest edition. it sucks, yes, i know.

just wait till you get to Cal during Welcome Week to buy your book, that way you get the exact book you need, hmm?

i got mine on amazon for 70 bucks. which is pretty cheap. and its seventh edition.

also i was wondering about solutions manuals. does anyone know where we can get these?

yess, i also had a question about solution manuals and whether it's a good idea to get them. especially for physics =(..though chem may be wise too ?
