Does anyone know how hard chem 4A is compared to Chem 1A? I have to take Chem 4A next year as a freshman.

Chem 4A is intended for chem/chemE/chem bio majors. In other words, all College of Chemistry freshmen. So you can definitely expect it to be harder than Chem 1A, which is targeted at non-chem related majors.

bump bump.........

On the other hand, the curve is easier. Ultimately I would say that if you know your chemistry fairly well, then the Chem 4 series is a better choice than the Chem 1 series.

But if you're a College of Chemistry freshman (which I think you are), you don't have a choice anyway. You'll have to take Chem 4A/B.

ya...i am a college of chemistry freshman

if I got a 5 on the AP, will I be somewhat prepared for the class?

Depends: did your teacher teach to the test? Or was learning the material in chemistry more important and doing well on the AP as an afterthought.
