CHEM 6B or 6BH? - i have 3 hours :[

dilemma: 6B or 6BH?

im currently in 6AH with professor weare. its a ridiculously confusing and hard class. first midterms were just passed back. average was 52/152 which corresponds to an A- in that class. somehow i got 81/125. go figure. im a little shallow and want to preserve my GPA (med-school hopeful perhaps). heres the situation:

6B: teacher i would take is Christina Johnson. she seems like a great teacher. Id have to buy a new textbook. doesnt seem any easier to get an A than it would be in 6BH tho.

6BH: professor is Carl Hoeger. also seems like a great teacher. i would really like an A and it seems like he has a great curve.

keeping in mind: getting an A solely through the curve may not help me once i get to upper div. chem and realize that i dont know anything. (biochem+ cell bio major).

:[ i sign up for classes in 3 hours

you need to learn enough basic chemistry to get you through (1) the MCATs and (2) organic chemistry.

the honors series is more for “thinking outside the box” than teaching you fundamental calculations and concepts. many of your classmates will go into 6B next quarter. and you won’t regret taking it from dr. johnson  i switched from 6AH to 6B myself - i would never have become a chem major otherwise.

would you suggest 6B?

i thought i already did.

hahaha I’m in your chem 6ah class this quarter.

If you didn’t get a 5 on the AP test (which I assume you didn’t), I would switch into the regular series.
