Hey, I am applying at notre dame. I am a girl and I am interested in their hard sciences except I didn’t take physics and the app says that both chem and physics are required of science intents. I do however have 5 yrs of science because my school offers an exciting running start biological solutions class taught by the #1 biotechnology high school teacher in the nation (he’s in Chicago receiving his award right now ) Is this a circumstance that would waive this physics req. or should I just mark a different intended major on my app?

bump bump!

jeez you can't all have taken both of these!

Do you have to apply to ND as a particular major? How hard is it to change majors or colleges?

No, ND doesn't make you declare major until the end of soph year but your intended major on your app does give them an idea and helps them decide whether or not you are going to bring something special to the school

I looked at the application and I see your problem. You should E-mail, call etc, the admissions office or your local person, and find out what you should do. You may need to,as it says in the app, take physics in the summer before college, or maybe during your first semester. You chould NOT mark another major until you thoroughly understand what it will take to transfer into the College of Science, they may not even let you register for that physics course after you get there.
You do not want a rejection based on a technicality.

Thanks for your help. I certainly will call them up on Monday.
