Chem AP

I will just post my two class schedule choices

English HL2
Math SL
History of the Americas HL
Latin SL
Bio HL
(out at lunch time)

or
English HL2
Math SL
History of the Americas HL
Latin SL
Bio HL
Chem AP

My question is how important would taking Chem AP be compared to using the time of my lunch and free 5th to do something more productive outside of school. I was having the debate last year between taking Chem AP or Physics AP as an elective, and now am stuck with a similar predicament. Thank you in advance for any help.

If you want that extra time, and feel like you need it, then go with the first schedule. The second schedule seems really rigorous. Also, it depends whether you want to go into a science field in college. You already have Biology, so you don’t have to take AP Chemistry. I can’t really help you, but decide whether you’ll enjoy AP Chemistry, or if you don’t like Chemistry and not SUPER interested in it, then don’t take it. I hope this helped a little.

Thank you, you are kinda pushing me towards taking it. To be completely honest, I don’t really want to take it that much right now, yet I do want to major in MolecularBio…I should take it, shouldn’t I. The problem isn’t that I don’t think I can handle it, but more so if I really should. Mainly, is the work put into it going to give me that much of an output in regards to boosting my college app.

If you get a 5 on the AP or even a 4 it’ll definitely boost your college app. Unless you’re aiming at reeeaaallly selective colleges in which case you should already have a ton of aps under your belt and wouldn’t even be debating this.

I doubled up on science AP’s this year (Bio and Physics). I guess I want to because I would have taken the three main AP sciences, but then I don’t because I am not sure how much it will actually help. If getting a 5 on the test will help, then I will definitely do it. Thank you.
