The only person I know who is in Chem engineering is my suitemate who had like a 4.8 GPA in HS. Didn't know his SAT but he is really focused and smart.

chemE isn't even impacted. if you get ~2000SAT, 700 SATIIs, >4.0 weighted GPA, you are guaranteed in. the average person that gets in has like 1900 SAT, 650 SATIIs and a 4.00...

one of my friends had

4.2
2280
760/740

didnt get into UCSD, applied as Chem E. he lacked a lot of EC's tho

So what do u guys think of this?
UC GPA: 3.87
SAT I : 1920
SAT II : Math IIC : 780
Chem :770
Physics : 720
US history : 670
AP Grades: Calc AB =5; Physics B=5; Chem =5
Cal-resident
EC:
-Couple of math/physics awards
-over 250+ hours of volunteering @ public library
-started with a couple of friends 2 new clubs : Indian Student Association and Physics Club
other stuff and other awards
Major: chemical engineering
Thanks

isn't this the second or third time you've asked for chances?

sorry astrina, but I REALLY REALLY want to go to UCSD but according to the scoring spreadsheet (ucsd score - Google Docs) i barely make it (7936) so i am very nervous.
And from what i have heard, engineering requires much more than the bare minimum of 7700.

I had 8122 last year if u follow that point system.

Your stats are FINE, the only thing that might be a factor is your 1920 SAT and ur 3.87 gpa. Your SAT2's are great and ur EC's are good. You are within UCSD's range

I got in with a 1940 SAT, and 600/450 SAT2's (you blow mien away) but my GPA was 4.0+.

Freaking out wont really help the situation, just chill, relax and enjoy the show.

As far as your stats you have a fair shot, but, of course, nothing is guaranteed.
I know people who got rejected with over 2100 SAT and 4.0 GPA's and I know people who got in with 1300-1500 SAT's and 3.5 GPA's. Why? I don't know, but if anyone else happens to know I'll be more than happy to listen.

I know how you feel. I, along with everyone else in this forum, were in your position once, but worrying yourself will not help. Just relax, focus on your studies, and have some fun. Believe me, enjoy the spoon feeding in the classroom, because once your in college your on your own.

Thanks Arctic and Eric
ya, i am very anxious because i really want to go to UCSD.

Well i aint gettin in,
thanks to all who have helped me out. =)

...and why do you assume this?

Remain patient. Decisions should come out around March 15-16, so by then we'll be willing to deal with your excitement or sadness.

:)

amby262roy,

If I were a professor, I would let you in because your 3 AP tests got all 5. You earned a AP scholar title. Let us know if you are in, OK? Good luck!

For sure Kelly =)
@OoPurestoO, I am assuming because I prolly wouldn't get the 7700 cut off mark

...bumppp (:
