Hey all,

Longtime reader, first time poster. =)

I am slowly approaching the end of my undergraduate career and hope to attend graduate school next fall. My goal is to attend a top CHE school such as UM (Twin Cities), Berkeley, Stanford, MIT, UW, UCSB, or CalTech. Here are my stats:

~2 years of undergraduate research ranging from microelectronics, polymer chemistry, bioengineering
~Working on Senior Thesis Honors project
~ECs ranging from president of an engineering club to volunteer service director of an honors society
~Summer Intern at 3M's R&D facilities (will probably do another summer internship there before next fall)
~(I can also get good recs.)

My main problem is my GRE scores. The first time I took it I received 730 Q, 540 V, which is decent but not stellar IMO. After taking it second time (the very next month), my scores were 660 Q, 510 V. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed.

What is your advice? Should I retake it in December and study my ass off for it to show I can improve (and also prove standardized testing is bull*hit) or just stop and explain my situation in my personal statement?

Thanks for any of your help!
