Chem I/II difficulty

How difficult is Gen. Chem I / II ? I have Chem I credit from CC and it’s the only chem I have ever taken. I can get into Chem II but my CC teacher has slightly worried me saying Chem is taught differently among schools and things are covered in a different sequence. They have even suggested that I retake Chem I at UARK. Is this really necessary? Will I really be totally lost going from CC Chem I to UARK’s Chem II? What subject matter is taught in Chem I, especially Lab? I really don’t want to be forced to retake Chem I. I have an A in it (only person in the CC class that got an a…) and retaking it would really mess up my scheduling I have seen (even auditing). Plus, financial aid comes into play…adds a class slot that could be better utilized…But, if I am to be “struggling” for a C like I’ve been informed, then I would consider finding a way to work it in. I plan on going on to grad school so I shoot for an A and do want an A. If someone could tell me what is covered/should know material from Chem I, especially Lab, then it would be much appreciated. If someone has a syllabus then that’s even better. I don’t have my syllabus by my side, but we did follow it quite faithfully. What I can remember, off the top of my head, of what we covered was things like the periodic table, measurements, significant figures, elements, compounds, ionic compounds, gas laws, stoichiometry, acids, bases, enthalpy of reactions, reduction-oxidation reactions…all I remember right now but I don’t think there’s a lot more than that and we didn’t go in great depth just a real general overview (for a general course I feel it was enough time, basically covered most of the chapters). I would like to note I will need more Chem than Gen Chem…Organic, Biochem, classes in related subjects that have prereqs of Chem.
Any info appreciated!
