Hi all, I'm trying to decide whether I should self-study chem or physics for the subject tests. I've taken honors physics as a freshmen (our school is physics first) and honors chem as a sophomore. I'm a rising senior, and i don't recall most of the information presented in either of these classes, so treating me as a new student to each, which would be easier to self study?

I'm a very mathematically strong student, finishing BC calc as a junior and taking 3d next year. (I know that the physics test does not include calculus but this might influence your decision)

Also what would be the best method to study for these tests? Be it a book, MIT ocw, etc.

I self-studied a lot of the Physics material after a year of honors physics and got an 800. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a better choice than chem, but it at least shows that self-studying physics is definitely doable. It has a better curve, which may make it easier for you.

As for preparation, I studied with Princeton Review.

i just feel more confident about chem material cuz it makes more sense to me. physics is just formulas that seem to complicate things more than they explain things.

take whatever you feel most confident about.
