people who did well this time around (or anytime really), what books/methods do you suggest for prepping? i'm taking the test in october, so i have a few months of prep time.

i think u sent me a PM, but ill reply here:

if you have until october, its definitely within your reach for a 800. Get Barron's and take the practice tests there - I averaged 720-740 on those, b/c they're pretty hard. I think Barron's is literally all you need; it does depend on whether or not you've taken AP Chem. I think if you've taken the class + done well, it'll give you an edge over Honors - i.e. reaction sets are an entire question on the AP Chem exam, and so if you have those down, they will really help you on the SAT II Chem questions that ask what will be formed if this is mixed with that, etc.. It also gives you a 'chem intuition' that really comes in handy...

If you haven't, I'd advise you to just go over Barron's like its the Bible (its a joke! don't get offended if ur Christian) - it seriously has all the stuff to know on it - even the random fertilizer and ozone stuff on it. Memorize all the solubility rules, nomenclature, organic families, colors, etc. And you'll do fine - if you do study a lot over the summer make sure to brush up before the test.

And if the Barron's practice tests depress you...(b/c they are so hard...and cuz some of the questions are wrong) take the Real SAT IIs test. Good luck!
