Hey everyone! I was wondering what Penn thought about Chem TA as a leadership position, elective, and class. I was asked to be my AP Chemistry teacher's Chem Lab TA next year. The responsibilies include forming chemicals and solutions to be used by her that year AP, and Pre-AP classes. I also expect she and I will work on a sort of independent study type project to teach me more about the real lab world (she has a biochem degree). The AP Phyiscs teacher teaches one student a year that is incredibly quick and passionate quantum physics, and I think my AP Chem teacher and I will do something similar. So will Chem TA look good or bad on my application to UPenn CAS with biochemstry as my major and I would really want to be invited into Vagelos MLS after the first year, but one step at a time. I've read that at most schools TA is like a blow off class but I think it would be a great experience for me to learn. Thanks in advance!

I can’t see how it’s a bad thing. go ahead and put it on your app.

and I think you can get invited to MLS before freshman year even starts fwiw.
