Chem was easy

Doesn't everything have london dispersion, even polar molecules?

Wow, I think I was dominated by the MC. What score range would a 50/75 be for just the MC section?

I think I did well on the FRs except for those equation reactions.

By the way, anyone know the answers to the FR question that asked about Entropy, and Enthalpy (in particular, the last part of the question where it asked for K).

How many points do you think I would lose on 5d) if I forgot to write that you had to use a dropper to measure to 100 mL.

Probably a 4.

for 5e) couldn't you add NaOH?

Karot, if you did well on FR, I think you have a chance at a 5. Multiple choice is worth a little less than FR.

So what if I put the actual reaction that forms the precipitate on the lab question? Do I get no credit even though I indicated which one was the precipitate?

I thought about adding NaOh, too, but Ca(OH)2 is soluble.

Guys help me out. For the one with Caco3 and Na2co3 I said put s ome h2so4. You will form NaSo4 (sol no precip) and caso4 (a precip). Will this work?

And someone please explain why H+ +oh --> H2o

Even though it is a weak acid it still RETAINS the same state of matter (AQ). it shouldn't be included....

Oh was NI + oh = NI(OH)2 or a complex?

To above poster

Hydroxides are strange. The calcium falls under the "moderate" solubility with OH's so I don't know if they would accept it...

Please someone answer my questions.. I have asked them like 39439349 times >.<.

gyros, that would work...... but it's not really necessary..... it would probably look like it isn't reacting since you're going from solid to solid.

HC2H3O2 is weak, therefore it maintains the full formula for net-ionics

I don't think Ni(OH)2 was a complex...... i haven't seen a complex ion that doesn't have either NH3 or SCN in it.

I thought Ca(OH)2 was soluble..........

btw Gyros, instead of posting the same questions over and over again (in multiple threads), read the threads themselves. you'll save everyone some time.

especially you're acetic acid question --> it was answered earlier, on post #91.

So wait are you saying that I would recieve points for the first one? When you say its not necessary and stuff.

wow, there are like 6 threads discussing chem, and probably 5 of them feature gyros and his FRQ #4 questions...

haha..... no kiddin ziggy.

gyros --> keep your questions to like a thread or two..... it's annoyin to answer the same question repeatedly.

Oh and guys on part B on number 1 it asked for what are the molar concentrations. I just put they remained the same. Will i lose points?

Do you think they would still give me points if I wrote (b on the lab) the entire reaction of the precipitate formation and indicated (s), (aq), etc?

Oh yeah, I did that as well but I circled the ppt.

Hey if any of you have your lab reports in word format could you send them to me? I'm looking to self-study AP Chem. and so I won't actually be able to perform the labs on my own...Thanks

I could mail mine to you ;).

Anyone have the answers to #7? :)

EDIT - oh, nvm. i found it in the other topic. man, i wish there weren't like 10 different ap chem threads...

no kiddin.

yeah...idk why it was necessary to start 1000 different AP Chem threads...they may have had different topics originally, but now they are all asking and addressing the same questions.

would you guys advise me to take AP chem or AP bio?

ive heard that colleges like to see AP chem takers cuz so many students take AP bio...

is that true?

Wait so booya would h2so4 work?

Oh and could someone tell me the maximum amount of points I can recieve? I heard that its like 150 and the curve for a 5 is usually about 120 or 125. Can someone confirm these ridiculously high numbers?

Finally guys I heard that on a different thread that someone found the NiOh question and said it DID form a complex... look for my thread about formula's and some guy did it there.

Wonky-Faint: not sure which would look "better" to colleges, but in our school waaaay more kids take bio, because it's supposedly easier then chem (third hardest class at our school, after ap calc bc and physics).

Gyros321: The curve from year to year varies... usually it's a little above a 100 points, and the total you can score is 160 (however that's veryveryvery rare lol. My teacher assured us that almost nobody got 160 points...)
