OK guys, I'm an in-state auto admit ranked 15/1023 and I still haven't been accepted to chemical engineering. I applied in September and I'm getting worried I won't get my major since I have yet to receive a response.

Other stats include:
SAT- 800 M, 790 CR, 710 W, 2300 Total
ACT- 36 M, 35 S, 36 W, 30 R, 34 Composite
6 AP's- 5 on three of them, 4 on the rest
SAT Subject Tests- 800 Math 2, 760 Bio, 760 US Hist
Awards- National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar w/ Distinction, etc.

I have pretty good EC's and Essays so that shouldn't be a problem.
I'm getting pretty worried since I have yet to be accepted and people with way lower stats have already gotten in. Anybody else in the same boat as me?

You will get ChemE. Obviously your stats are great and your ranking and scores will get your major. I think engineering is one of the last waves UT releases. No one from our HS has heard anything yet about engineering but others have heard that are in different colleges.

S1 has about the same stats as you and has not heard either. Many schools in Texas are just finished with semester. UT will want updated transcripts. Relax.

That is not what they told S1. The said they would use his 7th semester rank for admission. (they would also have used the 6th semester, but he was just outside the 7% and he panicked). No way he would not have been accepted to UT given his stats, but he was worried so he waited.

I emailed admissions as soon as our mid year report came out and was told they do no need it. Was told they would only consider info they had by December 1.

You and I have similar stats (yours are probably better), and I already got into the ChemE program.
My stats:
-4.3 something weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted and rank 7 out of ~500 students)
-35 ACT
-No SAT scores (didn’t take it)
-6 out of 7 on IB Physics SL test
-No national merit awards (off by one point! tragic, right?)
-Two scholar athlete awards, and one school “outstanding math” award
-Lots of EC’s and leadership (president of two clubs, secretary of National Honor Society)

Overall, I think you have a really good chance. Especially if you’re ranked highly in your class. I hear they weight that pretty heavily in the application process.
