ChemE Courses

Heys, I'm supposed to fill this form by May 25.. so I'm not too sure about classes which I have to take..
based on what i'm eligible to skip I've chosen these classes:
Chemical Engineering c96 N/NP (1) chem 112A (5) Multivariable Calculus 53 (4) Physics H7A (4) freshman seminar (1) total == 15
Do you think thats advisable? Also is it required for me to do a breath elective in every semester? cause I wanna take Spanish but its 5 units, which would be over the limit of 19.5, so i'm thinking of taking Engin 7 which is 4 units, then i'ld take spanish for the following semester.

I wouldn't add either Spanish or Engineering 7 to your schedule. E 7 is a really time intensive class with 2 hrs lecture, 1 hr discussion and 2 hrs lab. Chem 112A is probably even more time intensive with 3 hrs of lecture, and a 6 hour lab per week. Math 53 won't be relatively bad if you take Hutchings, but if you take Givental you'll likely be in trouble. Physics H7A is also a lab with lecture course so that won't be the easiest either.

So just take 15 units. Also, due to the labs of the classes you want to take you might not be able to add an extra class due to time conflicts.

hey thanks man. :) totally forgot to look into the times..

Why would in trouble if i take Givental compared to Hutchings?

also for the Chem 112A and Physics H7A, who do you recommend compared to the others?

My friend loves Hutchings (he's in 53 right now) and Giventel's ratings on RateMyProfessors is well...let's just say nobody wants to take him.

Haha... Hutchings is amazing! It's hard to explain. He's like an Ivy League Napoleon Dynamite. He doesn't make anything drier than it has to be and his tests are very fair. I can't imagine taking anyone else for 53.

?sweet :) i'ld get hutchings then. how about the other courses?
