Hi! So I got rejected from MIT, Stanford, Berkeley and Princeton. YES I ROCK WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

So now I have a tough decision to make. I'm intending to major in ChemE and these abovementioned two colleges are top-notch in the field. I really can't decide.

According to USNWR, Minn is ranked 4th while Michigan is ranked 10th. From what I've read, these rankings do switch around frequently and in terms of academic strength these two are pretty the same? Then, considering the overall rank of the universities, and to a certain extent the prestige, I'm leaning slightly towards Mich. However, I got accepted into Minn's University Honor's Program, and now I'm stuck. Can anybody provide me with some info? What are the weaknesses/strengths of each? If you were me, which would you choose and why?

Thanks in advance!

Engineering prestige: Michigan
Overall prestige: Michigan
“Doors” opened: Michigan
Access to fields other than engineering: Michigan
Other majors should you ever decide engineering is not for you: Michigan

and since you are not applying to a grad program, I dont see why you would get hung up by a difference of 6 places of department rank by the USNWR, which changes all the time anyway.

So unless there’s a substantial financial difference or you have a strong personal feeling for one or the other, I dont see why there is a dilemma here.

Wowwww. hahahah. you actually make me feel a little bit better after being rejected by all those ultra competitve Us. thank you! Mich sounds really good! Just wanna get some ideas. I wonder if anyone chose Twin Cities over Ann Arbor??
