ChemE question

A lot of people say that there is little Chemistry in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is physics-based (Thermodynamics, Transport Processes, ...). So can I major in chemical engineering if I am very good at Math and Physics but bad at Chemistry?

most Chem engineers have to take a full year of general chem and organic chem. I’d say at least have some interest in chemistry, otherwise Chem eng. may not be for you. no one is born knowing chem, it takes hard work to get through, especially the tedious stuff.

As long as you can pass general & physical chem, you should be able to survive ChE but I doubt you can maintain an interest if you don’t like Chemistry. But it is still possible to do well in Chemical Engineering. In my ChE undergrad, I got As in most of my Engineering classes but Cs in all my Chemistry classses although I had As in my Chem Labs.
The only reasons I stuck with ChE was because I was to lazy to fill the forms to switch majors but I eventually grew to love Chemical Engineering.
Ask yourself “Why do I want to study Chemical Engineering?”
Is your reason good enough to suffer through Chemistry?
