<p>I had been initially told by the ChemE advisor that I could submit my SAT scores and transcript this year and they would be able to transfer me into the Chemical Engineering department by summer itself; however, I was recently notified by her that more students accepted admission into ChemE than they had expected and I would now have to apply as a fall transfer. There is a huge risk involved as I don't know now whether it will go through. Does anyone know what the general acceptance rate for this transfer is? Especially now that there are too many ChemEs, won't it be more difficult? I've already received admissions to UT Austin for their ChemE department and both are around the same price, so would you recommend risking it at Berkeley or playing it safe and sending my SIR to Texas (their deadline is 5/12 so I have time)?</p>
