Chemical Eng. or Chemistry

I want to eventually go to graduate school for materials science. What should I major in?

I’d like to see a response to this question, too

Chemical Eng
It’s multi employable and has a high starting salary, you can always switch to other fields.

From what I hear, it’s best to just major in materials science.

I’ve wondered what I should major in if I wanted to do chem e in grad school. I pointed out that chem e is a lot of process engineering and reactor design, whereas mat e and chemistry are more practical in research. People just told me to major in chem e.

Also, from what I hear, mat e is more or less a branch of chem e.

I assume Chemistry would be a better major than Chem Eng. if I wanted to do graduate school in something like pharmacology, toxicology, medicinal chemistry, etc ? But how would ChemE. be?

You just asked this in a different thread. Why post it again?

so if i want to do research in materials science, i should major in chem?
