hi, guys. what does a typical chemical engineering major's fist year schedule look like? how many classes should one take each semester?

secondly, if we want to do dual degree, double major or get a minor in addition to chemical engineering, is it possible to finish in 4 years? i assume it might cost me too much money in the fifth year...

thx for the help! im pretty confused about college schedules...

You can follow the flowchart found in this page: [Cornell Engineering : Major: Chemical Engineering (ChemE)](http://www.engineering.cornell.edu/student-services/academic-advising/engineering-handbook/2009/major-cheme.cfm)

Some students take more classes or different sequence depending on whether they are sure they are going to end up in ChemE or not. The typical number of credits taken by engineering is around 15 - 18 credits.

dual degree and double major is almost impossible to be done in 4 years (still depends on what the other major is). minor, however, is probably possible to be done especially if your major is closely related to ChemE
