I will be a senior next year. Between AP Chemistry and AP Physics C, which is better to take for Chemical Engieering? I have taken Integrated Science I, Biology I Honors, Chemistry I Honors, and AP Biology. I am signed up for Physics I Honors this summer on an online school. So which is better to have for Chemical Engineering? I will be in AP Calculus AB. Also, if I did decide to take AP Chem, would it be bes to just take AP Statistics since AP Chem requires no Calculus, and then just do AP Calculus AB online that way I end up with both math credits?

AP Chem..

from the curriculums, i looked at -- you have to do specific Physics for Engineering course a lot, which u wont be able to get credit for..
however, you can get Gen Chem credit out of the way w/ a good score on AP Chem exam

Both?
...well thats if ur crazy like me take AP BC Calc, AP Bio, and AP Phys C next year
but since u havent taken any physics during high school physics c would be good for any engineering
but I think u need to have bc calculus instead of AB for phys C
its ur decision though...

yeah...both is always fun...im crazy enough to take calc, Anatomy and phys; physics, etc. but i already took stats...very good course...handy...

ok they are both the same period. i thought that was understood since i said "OR" between them not "and" lol.

i would take AP Phy C because you are taking HPhysics in summer school and that goes by so quickly.
i want to go into medicine so i am taking AP Chem, Bio, and Cal BC

still in ap chem u learn kinematics and basic mechanics in a chemistry way, so i'd take ap chem over phys c for that major (if you had to choose of course, if you want both, then take it)

our ap chem course is really difficult. i struggled to get an A but the exam is a joke (IMO). I am taking Physics C next year and think that is better preparation for a tough major like chem engineering. I don't know much about the exam but am kinda certain it won't be as easy as chem.

stupak, theres no kinematics nor mechanics (unless u consider v=sqr(3RT/M) mechanics, lol'z.. its fluid mech actually)
AP Phys C is very different.. but its harder to get credit for it..

AP Chem--trust me on this one, you will benefit more for chemical engineering

also, does your school offer a intro to engineering course or something to that effect? it would really benefit you!

most colleges have special engineering and physics courses for ChemE students b/c ChemE is very different from the other types of engineering. I wish our school had an intro to engineering course. Anyway, I'm wanting to to ChemE and I took AP chem (course we don't have a Phys C course) next year I'm taking an AP Phys course...

We have a course called UCF Engineering
