why are you doing that?

Research:
Chemistry and chemical engineering are different in research. If you do research, be prepared to do grunt work cause you don't break into heavy chemical engineering stuff till beginning of senior year.

Internships:
Go talk to Bill Beard (ChemE Liason), he's on 5th floor of HSSEAS near the left side of ChemE department for internships. Baxter hired so many UCLA ChemE for internships, was pretty much only UCLA (19 or so, I forget).

Chem E Electives:
CHE 111 / 112 / 116 / 119 / 121 / C135.
Basically none of the core classes (101-109)

My situation:
Actually going to take my PE in this coming April. If I pass, they will not grant me the license, I still need the 2 years experience.

Reason why I'm going back to graduate school is because I'm doing a change of field. From chemical to environmental. If I don't like my company down the road, I can switch to another company, a MS and PE are powerful negotiating tools for salary and what not.
