<p>Hello everyone, I was wondering just how competetive the college for chemical engineering is to get into. I am currently a Cascadia student an plan on transfering over to UW during fall or winter quarter next year. I only got a 3.3 in high school, but since I started college I have been working very hard and recieved a 4.0 in fall quarter. I am well on my way to doing this again this quarter. So how would my chances be if I have between a 3.7-4.0 GPA in COLLEGE? Also what else could help me into the major besides grades?</p>
<p>Average GPA for students accepted into the program is around a 3.6 I believe. However, there may be a drastic difference between the material you’re learning at Cascadia and the material you’ll learn at UW. Something to keep in mind, but your GPA is looking good so far.</p>

<p>From that, it looks like you just HAVE to keep a high GPA.</p>
<p>Plus, admission looks very competitive in there - just 30 students from CCs admitted in 2010. </p>
<p>I don’t think your high school GPA matters a lot as UW is more interested in the satisfaction of their requirements of taken courses, not the grades.</p>
<p>Don’t know what exactly would help you to get into UW, but I assume that it’s like everywhere: participation in major-related clubs, interships, a job, researches. </p>
<p>Unfortunately, nobody here can tell you what your exact chances are - it’s something we can only guesstimate as we aren’t admission officers

<p>Overall, GPA is very important, but not everything.</p>
