I want to apply to the UCSB, UCI, UCD, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly SLO as a chemical engineer. What are my chances for these colleges

SAT Scores: 1940
SAT Bio 650
SAT Math 2 670

UnWeighted GPA: 3.7
(AP Calc, AP Bio, AP Physics)

Are these stats a sure in for Cal Poly Pomona's chemical engineering program? I need to make sure I can get in since it will be my safety.

I really appreciate your time for reading this. Thanks again everyone

I’d say Pomona is a rather safe bet.

Thanks for the reply. How about the other UC?

You are in at Pomona - the others, it’s tough to say.

Assuming your UC/CSU GPA comes in around 3.9, I’d guess you’ll get into UCSB. Davis and Irvine are questionable unless you have some real stand out ECs.

SLO only looks @ M&R SAT scores and includes your freshmen grades which helps some and hurts others. They also weigh coursework heavily. Generally, they will want a 4.0+ GPA and 1300+/1600 SAT.

You might want to add another safety.

UCSB, UCI, UCD: high match
Cal Poly SLO: match/high match
Cal Poly Pomona: low match/match
