Chemical engineering (with biotech concentration) vs. Bioengineering?

I'm a little bit confused. I noticed that many schools of ChemE changed their names to Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering and also offer concentrations in Biotech. I was wondering ...

What are the main differences between majoring in ChemE with a concentration in Biotech and Bioengineering?

Which major would be better if one wanted to work in a pharmaceutical?
In fields involving molecular biology?
In alternative energy development?

A little off topic but can chemical engineers work in scientific research companies? Would that require a phD or would a masters be fine?

Thank you! :)

Anything that’s of a larger scale would probably be more suited for chemical engineers.
