Chemical Engineering Woes

Hey guys/gals of engineering,

Currently a jr. in chemical engineering and the issue is that I am getting hammered grade-wise for the most part, and I don't know if I'll be able to pull out passing grades for the semester...

Anyone else in a similar predicament and/or have experiences with repeating classes and the impact it had for you after graduation (related to either getting a job or attending grad school)?

chem E and EE seem to be the scourge of the undergraduate engineering world

Hey Adiabatic! I’m in your same position. Taking 16 hours and I’m getting completely hammered by DiffEQ and my lab classes. I’m trying to gauge where I stand after this semester but I plan on lightening up my load next semester.

I will be starting a chemical engineering program shortly after the new year. I was wondering what you chemE majors think has been the most difficult class.you’ve taken so far.

I would like to know about this too. Well I heard Unit Operations lab is extremely time consuming

I would think it would be the intro Chem E classes. at least thats what I heard.

The most time consuming are lab classes by far. Intro classes (at UT i know it as “317”) are tedious and essentially they are weed out classes.

This semester’s hardest class for me has been Fluid Mechanics, but the hardest class up till now has been multi-component thermodynamics

Junior Lab awaits me in early 2011…can’t wait…

BTW I am at Delaware
