Chemical Engineering

how is south carolina's engineering program overall and its reputation compared to schools like Clemson, NC State, or UGA.

IMHO, Clemson has the best engineering school in South Carolina. Next closest would be Georgia Tech. USC-columbia is known for its business & journalism (mass communications) programs.

I have friends in chemical, biomedical, and mechanical engineering. They all like it. One said the ChE program has a good reputation. I never thought of USC as an "engineering school", not saying it's not good for that, but when you think of Clemson, NC State, and Georgia Tech, you think engineering (and frankly, not much else, which again says nothing about how good the rest of the programs are). I have never really heard UGA referred to as an engineering school.

My major is chemical engineering too and i was wondering the same thing. I think that clemson is a better overall engineering school but chemical engineering is one of the strongest engineering majors at usc. Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech would also probably be better options and are also schools that I'm considering attending in the fall
