Those are some great ways to word the questions. I’ll keep trying.

Is there any update on this?

Hopefully, UAprophet and his affected classmates have taken some/all of our suggested questions and concerns and presented them to the right people.

Also, a letter or two to the Crimson White would also shine some light on this concern.

I believe that a response from more than one student will get more attention.

Feeno, are you affected by this req’t, too?

No, I finished my undergrad degree the last year.

Congrats! :)

Just to update this topic: We have several professors from places like Berkely and MIT coming on campus in the next few weeks to interview for faculty positions in the ChE department. I spoke to my advisor about this. She said the department and the college are very serious about hiring at least 2 professors next year (and very optimistically, 4 professors).

Now, obviously, that won’t help uaprophet’s situation, but this is very good news for people interested in coming to UA and studying chemical engineering. More professors not only mean more classes and smaller class sizes, but also increased and more varied opportunities for undergraduate research.

**Very good news! I hope it all works out! Thank goodness that UA is one of the not-so-many schools that is still hiring!!! It’s always good to get more profs from Top 20 schools. Berkeley’s faculty cuts will be to UA’s gain. **

BTW…when I was at UA on Monday, it was the first time that I was in the residential area along the river. I told my husband that I want to move there, it was so lovely. After the interviews, UA should take these profs along the river and say, “you can live here, too.” :)
