Chemical or Biomedical Engineering?

I can't decide between the two.

Depends on what you enjoy and what you want to do after your BS.

If you choose biomedical, that pretty much means you’ll need to to to grad school as most jobs are in research and require PhDs., whereas you can find employment with a B.S.

That should say you can find good jobs in Chem E with a B.S.

Lake Jr. gave much thought to enrolling in a BME major, but settled on ChE because he believed it to be a bit more broad and flexible. He has a fairly solid background in biology so when he graduates he hopefully can parlay the ChE degree into a job with a bioengineering or chemicals firm such as Bayer, BASF, General Electric etc.

Also, not every engineering school offers BME and some BME or Bioengineering departments do not have ABET accreditation.

UIUC actually offers Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Otherwise, NoVADad99 is right. BME jobs likely require a master degree while ChemE has more job for bachelors.

You might need a PhD to get a job that is associated with bio and med.
