@iamsocool…you can jack up an essay and still get a 5 if you did well on everything else. It all depends.

Wasn’t there a post that listed the raw scores and everything for a lot of AP tests needed to get a 5? I don’t think those will be much use this year as I think the curve this year will be significantly different…

I did well on every other FRQ (100% or maybe like one or two points off if anything) but I screwed up #1 and may have only received like 3 points at most for that question.

I did well on MC too, so who knows. But I am wondering how they scale the essays.Like do they multiply them by anything?

how many points are given per FRQ?

It depends on how many points per FRQ. Question for is always 15 pts. I think questions are usually around 9-10 points.

You have to remember that each question is a different percent of the overall score. The whole FRQ section is 50%, questions 1, 2, 3 are 20% each of the 50%, question 4 is 10% of the 50%, and question 5 and 6 are 15% of the 50%.

I’m pretty sure they multiply each FRQ by a multiplier so each FRQ’s percentage corresponds.

Ah, oh well I guess ill find out in July…i hate this damn waiting game.

Hmm, I felt that it was much easier than what I had expected. The FRQ’s were all doable (fairly straightforward) and MC was not that much worse. Well, we’ll see how it goes. I have to retake chemistry anyways…don’t really care what kind of score I get.

U know u guys want to discuss the MC and FR on this forum right now, lol…Plus, I doubt they will track you through the internet…

was not expecting question 2 but it was ok and hopefully i did decent.

Anyone wanna predict a curve?

Well IMHO that was way easier than I anticipated. There was nothing on it that I didn’t recognize, and my teacher warned us that she hadn’t taught everything since the class only takes up a regular period in my school.

Btw I LOLed at the note on the back that said “It is not expected that you know every question.” Does this mean they expect it on every other test? haha

hahahaha according to 5 steps to a 5, 85 to 150 is a 5 – WHAT? ■■■■■

anyone wanna predict an actual curve?

About the curve, I don’t think it will deviate much from the past years…what that is exactly, I don’t know. Maybe just a few points higher for each score, but not anything significant.

TQS…I didn’t see that?

65% is about the average for a 5.

most recent test, i think 2008 was 100/150

A little more a little less? anyone wanna give it a try?

1 on the free response section was hard. I thought the whole thing was alright cause I was expecting the test to be killer.

My class didn’t have time to finish learning the curriculum so I ended up quickly teaching myself 4 units in a matter of days. Hopefully, I did alright…

85/150 means you can get around a 42-43 raw score on M/C and get a 5, provided you did equally well on the FRQs.

This year, I’m guessing the curve will be more around if you get a 48-49 or evenn 49-50 raw score on M/C to get a 5, as it was much easier .

If anyone knows what the 2002 curve was, I think this year will be similar to the 2002 curve…

It should be the same. They wouldn’t vary the curve more than 5 points in just one year.

That being said, there is nothing we can do. The test is done. Just wait until the FRQs are up to discuss answers.

100/150 means that you had to get a raw score of 50 on the M/C, doing equally well on the FRQs…this year was definitely easier than the 2008 test tho…which means this year the curve might be around…55 raw score to get a 5?

@ninmage621: i think the curve scale in 5 steps to a 5 is incorrect; 85/150 as a 5 would mean that if u get a 57%, u get a 5 – which would make it a better curve than calc bc lol. I think its more around 66%, maybe + or - 2-3%?
