Chemistry 2010 Exam

I felt that the AP Chem exam was relatively easy, then again I’ve had plenty of practice from taking the Chemistry Olympiad qualifying tests.

The multiple choice section was pretty straightforward, though I did stumble on some concept questions. It was structured much like the SAT II Chemistry questions so it seemed pretty familiar. The FRQs didn’t really pose a problem either, though this is probably the result of having an awesome teacher though - we literally did every single type of question possible throughout the entire year through her impossible tests (she doesn’t grade easy either!). As 70% of her students last year received a 5, I’m keeping my fingers crossed =x

Yes, I am! Are you?

nah lol, I was just wondering

For the most part very easy, other than FRQ 1 which only stumped me on c and d. Other than that, I am hoping for a 5. MC wasn’t too bad, probably around 60/75 maybe in the 65 range if I got lucky.

I think i got about 60 raw score on MC.
but FR i think i bombed on number 1. and probably 80% correct for 2~6
would i be able to get a 5 still? holy cow i NEED a 5. cornell doesnt even take a 4.

mc was pretty easy. frq number two destroyed me. the rest were fairly easy

Guys we have a serious situation here!!! I just spilled something in my eye! It burns really badly!!! My chem teacher told me to rub it with cotton and pore vinegar in it…I tried it but it didn’t help!!! WHY???

Haha…the one having to do with the geometry section of chemistry was by far the hardest to me…because I know nothing about it lol
We did it last semester briefly and we didn’t test over it because it was the very last unit of the semester so our teacher just gave us a packet over it…I didn’t pay attention to it at all…lol
But other than that one…I felt pretty good about the rest…some parts were tough. I mostly had trouble finishing in the time haha I didn’t hurry through and pace well like I normally do haha
but after 5 AP exams…I’m just PUMPED that I’m done lol
and I can’t WAIT til July…I want those 4’s! haha

I think I could’ve gotten a 5. The MC was pretty easy and the FRQ wasn’t bad either, just tiring, haha. I almost messed up #3, but luckily I changed it at the end. When they made us flip to Part B, for a minute I thought we wouldn’t be allowed to go back to Part A, in which I left some things blank.

only FRQ 1 was a bit tricky…2 and 3 were okay, 4, 5, 6 were extremely easy.

M/C i think i got raw score of around 65-70…

and @rmenge: ROFL! That was like…a middle school science lab health question LOL. it was a joke.

^rmenges1 How ridiculous that is! XD

I totally screwed up FRQ #1 in a really stupid way. I’m so mad, because my mistake kept me from doing like two other parts of it too. Other than that though, I thought it was pretty easy and I should get at least a 4. If #1 doesn’t kill me too badly, I could definitely see a 5. :D

what does everyone think about how well do you have to do to get a 4 on this one?
I answered 52 MC …I wouldn’t let myself guess on ones that I wasn’t pretty sure about because I’m a terrible guesser and I always fall for the deceptive answer hahaha
but I’m pretty sure my MC score wasn’t below 40
FRQ I’m thinking:
1: 7-8 points
2: 7-8 points
3: 5-6 points
4: 11 points or so
5: 2 points probably haha
6: 6 points

That be good enough for a 4? I can’t find anything on the ap chemistry exam to calculate a roundabout score! lol I’ve found calculator and/or worksheets to play around with my scores for other exams but I haven’t found anything on chemistry! ahaha

did anyone for the last part of question one on the free response portion use coulombs law to explain? i had no idea if that was legit hahahahaha

I thought multiple choice was extremely easy… and all of the free response questions EXCEPT NUMBER 4. Am I the only one that thought that part was very hard/didn’t get it at all haha?

Hopefully the curve won’t be too tough because it was easier this year. I just want the college credit. I think I got a 5 though :)

Based on the ease of the MC and FRQs this year…Id have to say a 5 will probably start at around 115…

Is it weird that I thought 2008 was easier than 2002? I got a better score on that one…I thought this was somewhere in between the two. I skipped most of the math ones due to time (mc) and only went back to do half of them, so I skipped in total about 5. That’s not too many, but I did guess on the ones I could narrow down to 2…

^^

Damn…

Lol@vinegar in eye

I didn’t have many problems with number 4! haha
I couldn’t remember exactly what was produced on one of them and I couldn’t remember what the formula for one reactant was lol but I knew the products and I knew the word answers for all of them hahaha
I need college credit too! haha I need a dang 4 :D

I mean, its not pretty but there wasnt any “stumper” frq like there normally is and the mc was basic as well with lots of freeby points. Someone’s got to get the five though.
