Chemistry 2010 Exam

HAHAHAHA
yes the vinegar in the eye was QUITE HYSTERICAL lol

it wasn’t vinegar?

but #1 was a stumper to me…and I only missed one in #4. the products, so that’s -2 points, and I am pretty confident I got all of #5 right. I hope that will balance out my bad #1…

I highly doubt that the cutoff for a five goes up that much. I think everyone’s perspective is skewed because everyone here thinks it was simple- but people here make up the minority.

I totally screwed up #1. #2 was average and so was #3, but #4, #5, and #6 were sooo easy.

Edit: sorry for double post

My chem class, which is full of kids who mostly have Cs in the course agreed that it was easy…when someone with a C is confident they got a four, you know its really going to step of the level of the top score, 5.

That’s crazy haha
I had NO clue on number 5 lmao and didn’t have any problem with number 1
but I guess it’s because our equilibrium chapter and test was pretty harddd so I studied hard for that one lol
I had no clue what to do on number 5 because it was just information that I simply didn’t know haha
I think I got 2 points on that one LOL

I definitely thought 2002 was easier than 2008…beta you might’ve thought 2008 was easier if you studied before taking the 2008 and didn’t before taking the 2002 lol.

vince, good point…i try to think of the plurality of people taking APChem that are vastly underprepared to cheer me up hahaha.

^^^^ and trueeee haha
while we all think it was easy (well idk I didn’t haha…definitely easier than I expected nonetheless) there will be lottssss who don’t do well I think lol

Honestly…the exam was quite “fun” because it was so easy. And regarding the “hysterical” question that actually bothered me…do they think we’re ■■■■■■■■ or something? It actually bothered me a little bit that they had such little faith in us. When I read that I was just like I’m not 6 years old…

True. I didn’t study much, only 4 hours…but I took the 2008 yesterday and the 2002 on Saturday. That’s probably the case. I got the same # correct (45) on both, but I skipped more on 2008. Perhaps I should have skipped more today…

I hope we are indeed the minority. It makes me feel better at least. :)

1-ahhh, probably half creditish
2-ok,most of it
3-easy
4-sooo easy
5-easy
6-ok,most of it

damn, if they had asked anything but ksp I would be confident in a 5.

I enjoyed seeing easy questions like the one in reference toward the end…it brought my hopes back up after skipping/guessing on a few toughies. XD

seriously, ilyssa.

anyone wanna start an AIM chatroom to discuss?

lol, yeah i would’ve liked it more if the first question was acid/base titration or any other equilibrium except Ksp…since Ksp is one of my weak spots in chem haha

lol i spazzed when i saw the first free response, so i went on to do 2/3 and when i went back #1 magically made sense!
4 was wayyy easy - i thought i would get like a 2 on that one going into it but not anymore :D

The MC felt really easy, I omitted one. FRQ #1 went well, though there were some…shall I say…odd numbers. FRQ #2 was all right, save for one thing I wasn’t confident in. FRQ #3 I bombed, to say the least (time management issues). FRQ #4: A joke. FRQ #5: Mostly easy, though I felt like I may have skimped on a couple of explanations. FRQ #6: Again easy. I felt pressed for time though, and in making sure to hit everything, may have missed a few points. Estimated score…optimistically 79%/5.

As for the curve - even if this test was easy, I’d have a hard time seeing it go above 108 (72%), especially if it has been so low as 100 (66.7%) the past few years.

lol, yes i got a few…unusual numbers for FRQ #1 as well

about the explanation length, #5 I did completely in 3/4 of a page. my handwriting is neat but not small or large. I feel as if I explained everything enough (just used the terms…what more is there…). Should I be worried that I didn’t blabber on enough?

Last year’s entire FRQ section only included 59 points: 10 pts on Q1, 2; 8 pts on Q3; 15 pts on Q4 (1 pt for products, 2 pts for reactants, 1 pt for balanced, 1 pt for follow-up on each rxn); 8 pts on Q5; 8 pts on Q6.

If the entire thing is 150 pts (since the 75 pt MC is 50% of the score), then the FRQ raw score must be multplied by appx 1.25 to get the entire raw score.

From what I’ve seen I think somewhere in the range of 100-105 is the minimum for a 5.

im interested in an aim chat
