FRQ’s are graded differently depending on the question. You can look at some scoring guidelines from the past to see (if they put the FRQs back online).

D: that’s so evil
because H2O2 DOES DECOMPOSE INTO 2 GASES
that sucks :/

Unless the wording was just dumb, because my first thought was H2 + O2. Maybe they just won’t count that question XD.

[Hydrogen Peroxide Home](http://web1.caryacademy.org/chemistry/rushin/studentprojects/compoundwebsites/2000/hydrogenperoxide/home.htm)
this website supports the H2O + O2 as well

How to calculate your score:

For the MC:

Number of Correct - 1/4Number Wrong x 1.0667 (this number varies each year)

= Weighted Section I Score

For the FRQ:
Question 1 Points received x 1.600
Question 2 Points received x 1.7778
Question 3 Points received x 1.7778
Question 4 Points received x .5333
Question 5 Points received x 1.333
Question 6 Points received x 1.333

Sum = Weighted Section II Score

Weighted Section I Score + Weighted Section II Score = Composite Score

Composite Score Grade
100-160 5
82-99 4
57-81 3
35-56 2
0-34 1

*Again all these numbers vary each year by the amount of curve given however I do believe this will be similar to this years’ grading

lol i just sort of guessed part 3 in question 4, can’t believe everyone did it too lol

oh crap i definitely screwed up on the FRQs. dsjflskjgoirjgdbfg. the first one and the last one weren’t too bad. it was just the freaking predicting rxns that got me. oh well, c’est la vie! at least the multiple choice was easy. i hope the curve isn’t too hard!

I might be the first kid from my school to pass this exam. I kinda skipped Ksp problem I’m expecting 3 points from that question and hopefully I did OK on 2. Other than that I got extremely lucky on descriptive.

haha i hope that curve is close because im still on track for a five even though i didnt get any points on number 2

does anyone want to discuss answers even though we’re not allowed to?

oh sweet! Thanks for whoever posted that scoring rubric hahaha
based on that…I think I made a 4
I’m really happy lol
I hope I made that anyway lol

You’re welcome and good job on your 4 lol

:D
Thanks much! lol
that’s assuming this curve doesn’t screw me over I guess hahaha

Hopefully it won’t :(!
Even though the exam was quite easy
gahh I hope I get a 5 D:

did anyone else think the lab question was hard? i hadn’t even seen that lab since general chem…

the ksp one i definitely screwed up on the “observation part” because i didn’t get any “observations” hahahahahhahah

I observed a precipitate ■■■■■

For the Ksp one I got that a precipitate would form. I calculated that the amount of precipitate that amount of water could dissolve was MUCH smaller than the amount that was formed from the reaction.

Qsp :)…

it seemed to be the last part of all the free response that I didn’t answer really lol
I could do almost everything else (except for number 5 because I know nothing at all about geometry of bonds…didn’t pay attention to that lesson lol)

I think that scoring guide is for the old AP Chem exam which had a total of 160 pts. The current one has 150 pts iirc.
