I didn't take AP chemistry in high school, but I did take the best chemistry courses they offered. Is ap chemistry required in order to take chem 215? I want to be a chemistry major so I'd like to take 215 anyway.

As a chem major, I would recommend that you take Chem 215. If you're premed however I would recommend Chem 207.

yes i intend on being a chem major, but i was unsure if ap chemistry was an absolute requirement in order to take chem 215

o i understand a chem major that wants to go to med school....then i guess i should take 215 since I want to go to grad school...but does anyone know is ap chem is a requrement for chem 215

They list the prerequisites as "good performance in high school chemistry, physics, and mathematics" in the Courses of Study guide. I remember them having an AP requirement but I don't think it's set in stone esp. if your school didn't offer AP Chemistry.

If you are a chem major and planning on grad school, you should definitely strive for Chem 215-216. That class is mostly chem majors while 207-208 are full of premeds.

so can anyone confirm what norcalguy said
