Hello all. I am interested in attending grad school for biochemistry, but don't know where to begin in my search for schools. I have researched all of the California schools (UC schools, Scripps, etc) but don't know if I can be competative in my application to those schools/can get accepted. Could anybody offer a word of advice on which schools I stand a chance at gaining entry to for biochemistry or a closely related field?

I am currently a senior Chemistry/Biology double major with a 3.0 Chem GPA and a 3.3 Bio GPA. I recently took the GRE and got 570 Verbal and 750 Quantitative scores. I have been researching for the past year in a lab on campus, and might get my name on a paper before I submit applications. I have been very active around campus, which kind of explains the GPA (obviously no excuses though). My LOR will be fairly strong as well.

I am most interested in the Tetrad program at UCSF, can anybody give me some bearing on where I might stand there?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
