Chemistry Honors

Hello guys, hope you are all are having a great day. Sooo, I am from Beckman high school and I am currently in freshmen (9th grade) and on april 30 I have a chance to do a challenge to get into chemistry honors. But I have been debating on whether to do it or not because if I did the challenge and got qualified then I can take chem honors but if it was difficult then I can’t drop it. So I really need lots of advices about whether I should risk it or not. I want to take chem honors because I feel like I am really interested in chemistry, formulas, chemicals, experiments, etc.
I took CP biology and I got an A in first semester and I currently have an A in second semester. I am in Algebra 1 honors currently and I am doing well. In fact I have an A in that class. I don’t know if these classes are good enough to take a chem honors class
In addition, I want to take chem honors but its a big risk to challenge because you can’t drop it, in other words, once you are in, then you’re stuck in it for the entire year. So should I take it or not?

Do you know the teacher for Honors Chem? Do you like him/her? You seem ready for the challenge- I think you would like the class and then you could take AP Chem in your junior year.

Yes do it, I was in the same situation as you were in but kids who take alg 1 freshman year arent allowed to do chem sophomore year so I had to wait to do it till junior year pairing it with AP Bio. But yes try to get into honors chem → ap chem → ap bio and if you wanna double science then do ap physics with ap bio
