I think I want to double major in chemistry and Portuguese or Spanish (or at the least minor). I've been comparing the BA and the BS. I want to be a pharmacist, so I'll go on to the pharmD. I've heard that the BA is better for pre-pharm students because it allows more flexibility, so I'm really unsure. The BS seems to be more for the student who plans on working as a chemist versus pre-professional programs. Anyone want to support or disprove these myths?

there are a plenty of students who's doing BS and all. but in general, yeap, that's correct. (also you have better chances of getting a high GPA with BA)

Also, is double majoring/minoring easier with a BA? Oh and thanks for the quick response

Most people say not to get a BA in any science...
They say it is the "easy way out"

yes it is easy to double with BA (cuz it's eaiser than BS)

yes, it is easy way out. but graduate schools dont really care what major you got as long as you got all requirements.

also as a side note, although i believe in learning for its sake, double major wouldnt really be plus on graduate admission (if that's what you thought). it might be bad, since it will be hard to keep up, therefore low GPA and all that.

just thoughts

if one takes more science classes like molecular bio, biochem, micro bio, etc look better than taking language courses?

they dont really care as long as you meet their requirements

It's more a personal interest than to help with grad school btw. :p
