What would my chances be for me?

I have a 3.45 or so, top 10th percentile at my school.

Hmmm, my ACT is 24 and my SAT is 1620 (around 1100 for math and reading). I know, low.

AP Scores: Apush: 3, Chemistry: 5, English Lang: 4, Calculus AB: 3.

Cal Poly is definitely interesting.

Compare to this year’s freshmen here:

In all honesty, not trying to offend you, but your chances are not all that great. Your AP scores are good, but GPA and SAT are really the only important components in an application to SLO and yours are kinda low. Your GPA specifically is going to make it kinda difficult.

Also, what is your major??? If its engineering, you arent getting in. If its Ag, you have a chance.

Best of luck!!! I’m applying to SLO as well =D

My major is CHEMISTRY. How impacted is that major? I’m pretty sure it’s different than biochemistry.

first, calculate your csu gpa. It’s probably different than the gpa your school gives. And since you’ve taken some ap classes, it could be a LOT higher.
1100 isn’t a highly competitive score for the college of science and math. are you applying early decision or regular decision? if early, you might not have the greatest chance, but the commitment for ED might help a lot. If you’re applying for regular decision, and seriously want to go to cal poly, take the december SAT date. STUDY STUDY STUDY and get a better score, and maybe you can send it in after you get the scores if you do better!

bottom line, you don’t have a strong chance of getting in, but if your GPA is higher than 3.45 with the CSU weight, you might have a better chance.
