So I have to make a decision between AP chem or my fourth year of AP French... What would you recommend for college apps at schools like USC and UCLA?

Schedule so far
AP lit
AP Calc
AP Gov/Econ
AP physics C
Advanced Anatomy H
AP Chem/AP French

I’d say AP French. Schools LOVE AP foreign languages.

Yeah, I would say AP French as well. That would make your schedule very well-rounded since you already have AP Physics C.

What about if I’m thinking about applying to 7 year med programs? Don’t they require upper level chem?

In that case, I’d suggest self-studying it. I’d still take AP French.

I would say AP French. I don’t think AP Chem is that hard to self-study for the AP Exam. However, you might want to talk to the AP Chem teacher about lab experience if you consider self-studying.

Eh, I’d say AP French is much easier to self-study for. Chem you have to learn actual stuff, whereas French you can practice leisurely by reading books, watching movies, etc.

Maybe drop AP Gov/Econ and and put AP French there instead? That way you can take AP Chem too, and AP Gov is pretty easy and can even be self studied

Gov is required to graduate though. It looks like chem because my school is most likely going to combine French 3 and 4 because of lack of interest in French 4. Is the lack of ap French going to be an issue?
